Industry in EVE Online is a weird way of making money. The first reason is that in a game about internet spaceships, industry takes place almost entirely inside of space stations. I just built stuff. The second reason is that most ways of making money in EVE have very simple answers to the basic questions. The most basic questions about industry are met with resistance and obfuscation. Most of EVE is an open book, but industry is a pretty tightly lidded secret. In spite of that witg or perhaps because of that — industry ignites a curiosity in people, maybe more so than any other area of inrustrial game. If not…well, at least you learned from moneh INN article instead of from hard experience, right? Everything you build will begin its life as ore, which you will have to refine into minerals, out of which you will build modules and ships and space stations.

)}It’s a legitimate way to turn EVE into a free-to-play game, but the rising price tag of a day PLEX can make it seem as if only veteran players can afford to do it. New players typically scrape together just a few million ISK by the end of their free trial periodsmaking the million per month required to pay via PLEX seem like a tall order. With the right guidance, a new player can actually pull in over a billion ISK in his first month or two of play and quickly become able to afford a PLEX each month. Farming missions requires a bit of time investment but can pull in million ISK per hour once you’re set up, and exploration and salvaging can lead to some unexpected big hauls. There are also plenty of newbie-friendly corps that run group activities, and those who aren’t interested in grinding to their first billion ISK might try their hands at trading or turn to a life of crime. It’s all possible in the sandbox. In this week’s EVE EvolvedI give some practical tips on making your first billion ISK, from scraping together the seed capital to buy your first big ship to reliable farming methods and some more underhanded methods. Starting small For your first few weeks in New Eden, you’ll be flying small, cheap ships like frigates and destroyers. While this may seem like a curse as you train for bigger ships, it’s actually something of a blessing as you can take huge risks with your ships and they’ll almost always pay off. This is exactly the right time to steal any loot you can find and even explore low-security space. If the worst happens and your escape pod is also destroyed, your cloning fee will cost only a few thousand ISK. Look for anything you can take to make a quick buck, from drones left floating in space following a ship’s destruction to ship wrecks you can loot and salvage. While you can make some decent ISK salvaging NPC wrecks for players in mission hubsthe big money in salvaging comes from the wrecks of tech 2 player ships. These can salvage into rare parts that sell for millions of ISK, and since combat ships tend not to waste a valuable high slot on a Salvager I module, you’ll often find looted player wrecks strewn about in space in areas of high PvP and piracy. Explore the low-security space faction warfare areas like the Black Rise and Placid regions, and keep an eye out for wrecks near the stargates. When you find one, make sure no one is around to blow you up while you salvage it, and then get back to safety to sell anything valuable you. Finding an agent used to be a complicated task that was best done by looking up player-made websites like EVE -Agents, but as of the Incarna expansion, the new Agent Finder tool has simplified the process to a few clicks in-game. The Agent Finder tool is located in the Business tab of the new EVE start menu or can be accessed via a pad on your Captain’s quarters desk. Set the tool to find level 2 Security type agents in highsec and it’ll show you a list of all the agents you can start. High-level agents require you to have higher standings to their corporations before they’ll offer you work. You can skip straight to level 2 agents by just training the Connections skill to level 3, but to get to levels 3 and 4, you’ll have to run enough missions of the previous level.⓬

Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. I’ve already started when it comes to industry, got blueprints for destroyers and frigates, ships that most people like to waste and with that certain ship equipement, ammuntion, and even some planet resources yet I keep noticing that the price to by minerals at is normaly higher then what you get out of you product, so I decided to start mining for my own resources. After 10 runs I finally start seeing that I would bring in about 3 million worth of ore only to reprocess and produce 15k of larger antimatter hybrid charges and 10k of heavy missiles which I did the math after selling them and I got only 1. I turned 3 million isk into 1. Producing ships and copys of blueprints give you nothing as it seems at the moment that nobody needs that kind of stuff. With that you get more from the ore itself then you get selling the ship. I’am I doing something wrong, should I be doing something that I haven’t or should I just quit and go do trading or mining to make isk.

)}For those strange people who are interested in crafting, trading, and other non-violent MMO activities, there is no finer or more complex game than EVE Online. Part of EVE’s principles of human interaction is that it’s the players who have to produce most of the traded goods in the game world. Rather than relying on NPC spawns and loot drops for the majority of wirh weapons, ships, and ammunition, everything in the game world has to be manufactured by players. There are still some rare item drops, of course, but the day-to-day ship construction and the general shopping done by the masses has to be provided for by the, er, masses. Entire alliances are am dedicated to nothing more than making money peacefully. Entirely non-violent corporations now exist for the sole purposes of making all the toys that the violent alliances use to blast each other into spacedust, and many players now have an «industrial alt», a second character trained entirely for trade and industry specialities. So, let’s look at some of those industrial possibilities. The most basic is that of a trader: buy goods in one place in Empire and ship them somewhere else, thus making a profit. It’s a popular business, and the freighter-owning bigwigs of the trade arena have most areas pinned. Competition is fierce, and it’ll only get tougher as the traders get better at their induustrial. The other possibility — one that made EVE famous, and famously boring — is mining. This is actually a remarkably complex exercise makimg days, with vast numbers of tools at the disposal of the miners involved. It can also be very dangerous if the sve takes place within the rich belts of 0. The major mining operations that take place within deep space are as complex as makinb fleet ops, with scouts watching for incoming raiders, the miners themselves working on the belts, tanks taking the aggro from the NPC spawns, and haulers taking the materials back and forth to the nearby refineries. Major witg can net hundreds of millions in isk in a single evening. There is no better isk-per-second reward in the game. Even if it’s undertaken in Empire, money can be made from mining.⓬
